In a good wind location, wind turbines will outperform solar electric energy for the same cost.  Better yet combining wind energy with a solar electric system gives you some really versatile advantages.  Together a steady input of power can be achieved as wind power can be produced during storms and at night when there is no sun!   The average wind speed in your area and the immediate terrain have some bearing on how much power a wind turbine can produce.  If you are unsure of the available wind power potential in your area, we suggest you first install a solar electric system and wait a year to assess the wind potential.
